Someone remind me to leave the newspaper alone, seriously. A 63 year old woman who is not mentally incompetent but has trouble speaking due to a stroke, according to the ruling of a lower court in MA, must continue to wear the incompetence label.
She was ruled incompetent to testify against her illegal alien attacker in an assisted living facility due to her difficulty communicating. She should have been given additional time to testify, or provided with an interpreter, but no she was ruled incomptent and must continue to wear that label even though the state Supreme Court overturned the label.
Now her attacker has been deported to Ghana, so I kind of see the no defendant no trial. But to continue to have this inaccurate label attached for future record? I'm tired of this shit women with kids they can't afford can be provided with all sorts of services even if they don't speak or wish to learn English, but blind & disabled folks are told where to go and how to get there, no Braille, you're incompetent because of speech difficulty, no assistance in court. FTS...
Have these people not heard of computers or even pens and pencils? If her problem was only in speaking, and if she was mentally competent, why couldn't she simply write out her testimony? And how the hell can the label still be attached if the state supreme court overturned it! I thought they would have the final say, unless it went to the national level!
I hate these people.

People, I'm antisocial for a reason. I have no deisre to be any part of or make any contributions to a society that thinks like this. Look, we cater to people who are ridiculously stupid yet not clinically so, yet we call disabled people incompetent because they can think fine but can't communicate well?
No thanks, not a world I want to be part of. I'd actually like to bring it down, but really, things like this are so spread out and the world is so infected with it that...where would you start?
